  • Why Play Kickball?

"Kickball may be best known as a playground game children play in elemnetary school. A cross between baseball and soccer, it's easy to play and good exercise.

During the past decade, several adult kickball organizations have sprung up, offering grownups a chance to socialize and have fun, while getting the kind of exercise that if done regularly, can significantly lower your lifetime risk for cancer - and heart disease and diabetes, too. A 150-pound adult who plays kickball for 30 minutes can burn 238 calroies!

Though any sport league can be competitive, kickball is a good team sport for a beginner because it doesn't require a lot of skill to get started. As with any exercise, check with your doctor first. Then start slow and build your way up.

Being active is an essential element of staying healthy, and one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to do so is by engaging in physical activity that feels like play."
